efefefDad and I took off on the Geisha for and overnighter to the numbers that went off the day before. Turned into the "Shoulda been there yesterday" Water was ROUGH, and the good fish were no where to be found. My dad and I were on the first troll squad that got bit, adn my Dad proceeded to land his first tuna, albeit a skippy. Never got any schoolers, due to the fact bait was poor chovies and scattered dines...This continued for 4 hours till the captain decides to start trolling north to give us more fishing time.
Get to north of the 1010, about 60 from the point, and captain says we've been invited to share a paddy with a 6-pack that is getting yellows and DoDo's.
We slide in and all hell breaks loose. Instant bendo on half the rods on the boat. This goes on for 2 drifts. All rats, but dad (and I) are having a blast.
Now, some fun at the end of the second drift (Watching fun for us) A quarter mile off the paddy, 2 guys go bendo. One, and older man, has arm problems, so we think it's a decent yellow. NOPE, 15 minutes later a 40# Blue Fin Tuna to gaff....

Couple more hookups, but the poor kid up front has his 30# test line snap in the middle of getting it around 3 or 4 other lines.

That's cattle boat fishing. Anyway, proceeded to have about 12 or so hookups, with 6 Blue Fin Tuna from 30#-45# landed. Beautiful fish, fun to watch. They ate 1 fishtrap, 1 chovie, and the rest dines.
All in all, a great day with my dad. Only negatives were the rudeness of some cattle fishers, and the fact that a sporty can run out of dines on 12 Blue Fin Tuna????
We're off now to Golf. Dove season is Monday
Dad fighting a yellow.
