Actually a very tough day fishing. Horrible current around the Vee's, uphill and weak. There is a ton of bait at the island right now along with lots of big fish meter marks, but that really dont mean much.
Baits tanks totally jugged with squid and all we could manage was one fish worth keeping. This is Rod with his 26 pound Yellowtail.
At least this kept us reaaly busy. My impression of the Polaris Supreme snack table.

Too bad you cant see all the cajun fried chicken and the cheese tortilenni and french bread.
Now this big BSB came upon a Yellowtail drift around Church Rock. At first it felt like the bottom, but the bottom dont all of a sudden make a mad dash. We would have never had boat sided this slug if we were on the anchor. The fish was hooked on 25 pound and required me to back down on this fish from 75 feet of water to 175 feet of water. The BSB finally came up pretty lethargic, but never a question about sending him back down.
This picture is while he is still on the hook coming into the boat for a nice clean hook release.
This picture, now dont worry about the gaff, it was use to help push the fish down and keep him close to the boat if need be. After several attempts of keeping him upright and pushing him down he took off and left us a real cool bubble trail going down quick.
We were prepared to connect the fish with light line to the anchor and sink him out if need be, glad we didnt have to.
