Exclamation Unprofessional Cattle Boat Captain

Looks like the slim pickings are irritating not just the private boaters but the Sport (?) boats as well While trolling past the Dolphin II (8/6) on his Starboard side (150 yards off) in the opposite direction he pulls a 180 after we pass each other. He then proceeds to power up and shortly steams up our troll spread eventually turning off but snagging a new cedar plug which then I had to cut off to keep from being spooled. :ukliam2:

I guess he had to give his clients some excuss for a poor showing and I was the victim.

I just checked his fish report for yesterday:
Dolphin II Overnight Charter 2 Albacore.

Sure enough not good. (Still better than zero for us!)

They must think that they own the ocean

Any way watch out they are becoming real nasty!!

Did this happen in the Afternoon, say around 2:00. I heard a somewhat heated exchage on the radio about that time.

I won't get within 150 yards of a party boat. I have had them come in on a paddy we stopped on last year, and kind of hold off to see what we were catching, but that is as close as I will get to them. I just don't like all the PB vs. Private issues, and don't trust a couple of them to play nice.

This isn't the first I have heard of DII issues.

Lots of ocean for everyone. I doubt that he targeted you.

If true class less, I would hope more accidental, but there are some captains out there that can't handle the truth! No fish is not an excuse for such action, and I believe 150 yards on the side of the boat is plenty of room, as long as you do not go across the bow or stearn. Bummer on the loss of your lure and poor fishing.

Thursday Night ------

Thursday evening we were waiting in a long line for bait at E-Bros and after waiting for an hour a "6-pack" boat cuts me off - and we were next in line to get bait - ( 5 boats behind us ) I yelled something "@!##$%^&*" and a "6-pack" boat next to us says "hey we do this for a living" - where upon I said "Guess What? We pay for bait and fuel, just like you" Then he tries to cut us of also / not this time I moved forward and got bait and got the @#%^ out of there..................."

ugh..!!

I have e-mailed e-bros and will talk to them.

Too many boats in too small an area for very little fish = hot tempers.
Just have to chill and be patient.

I thought that sporties got bait on the opposite side of the receiver from the PB's.
