7/20/03 Great Boat Ride

Left last night & went south with great flat seas, saw the fleet heading to my #s. 238 & below. Arrived at 31º27 X 116º55 at around 4:30 & started to troll at 05:15 south then west on the 31º25 for 5 miles then dropped even farther south. Keep waiting for the bite to turn on but for the Boiler Maker & myself it wasn't to be. I ended up with 208 nm on my boat with nothing to show but a sore butt. Heard boats scratching them around the area but just couldn't get them to bite. I know, yesterday was the epic bite.

108.8 gals of gas later & we're home, boat's put away, and no fish to clean. Oh well, next time!

Isn't that something. I take my wife, limits. Take Jerry, farmed 4 fish during 1 trip & long boat ride for the other trip. What should I do?

No Shit

This is now the second and maybe third trip in a row where WFO bite completely shutdown the day I go. All we heard today was "SHOULD OF BEEN HERE YESTERDAY"!!!! The bite was way down at the 238 and south. All the landings were slow also. Some boats only had two and three fish.

Hey maybe I can start getting a commission from the landings to "STAY THE FUCK OFF THE WATER".

Hey BranMan when we heading out buddy ????

Jerry Skunked again...and to screw us even more... a nice, pain in the ass 1 to 2 foot wind chop the whole fricken way home

Dave, thanks for adjusting your schedule and taking me. I bet you regret that now. Sorry

Wow, tough day. At least you guys went the distance, I worked all day and some.

Hey Jerry can you give me a fishing itinerary for the summer. I think I'll go when you're not!

I feel your pain

I was right there with you buddy. 190 miles and no fish to show for it. Well the fish gods have been good to me in the past, must have been my time to set it out.

We were right down there with you .

Dave

We ran down there Sun. also , same results ! All area that had been producing mass quanties of fish thru Sat just shut down . Time to find out where those Buggers went ! Lot of boats went out for a long expensive boat ride Sun . It was still a beatiful day on the water though . I would have still made the run if I had it to do all over again . I darn near drug everything in the box behind the boat yesterday .
BTW it was great to get to meet you finally Sun a week ago on John's boat . Good fishing with you . Hope to do it again sometime . Man what a difference 7 days makes , Ehh . Search and seach for nothing and a little more nothing yesterday . I wish I would have known BoilerMaker was going out with you Yesterday . I might of reevaluated my trip plans with Harry . Just kidding BoilerMaker . You're do for a big haul in the near future . But pleas let us all know in advance of your fishing plans . Till you come around we need to think it out .

We'll get em next time

Michael
