Great post. Nice job on the tuna slam. Do we ever get any big eye up here?

Since you caught 3 out of 4 species, you guys qualify for an IGFA Tuna Grand Slam (this is a cached page - IGFA recently reorganized their site):

! IGFA Clubs

Here's the application:

Thanks ... will check out the toad. Any plans to go out this weekend? Considering an SI launch to the 60 mile. Leaving late Fri/early Sat.
Hey Jake,
Kids have tackle football again this Saturday--last games--so we may be able to do Saturday night fishing Sunday, depending on the weather...and if Bro Robert can convince his wife that we need to go again. It is getting tough to go as our freezers are plugged and then some. We have developed a pretty good fish distribution network among friends!!!

Yes we do get big eye once in a while Julio. Seems like we typically get them just outside the Coronados trolling with the porps. We thought about going in search for them to hit the slam, but as it gets dark so much sooner, and we didn't want to come back at night, we headed for the barn at 12:00 P.M.

I looked at the IGFA grand slam application, but I didn't see anything for 3 Pacific tunas. Do they also charge when you submit a fish for a record ?

To qualify for a Grand Slam, the angler must catch at least three of the species.

TUNA Grand and Super Grand – yellowfin, bluefin, bigeye, albacore.
