10/24 60 Mile Bank

I want to post this last night but I was way to tired when I made it home after 2 hours of cleaning fish.

Short story; found a paddy 10 mile short of the 60 mile bank which produced 16 Yellow Fin Tuna and 3 Yellowtail. On the way back to the barn picked up 2 more Yellow Fin Tuna and 3 Yellowtail off of paddies between the SSK and the 302.

Long; After hearing about the albies and Blue Fin Tuna being caught out at the 60 mile bank I decided to make another run for some pelagic fish. Left MCRD at 10:45 short one crew member because my one of my fishing buddies declared season as being over and the we were just going on a boat ride. Picked up some great bait and by 11 we were out of the bay cruising at 8 knts on nice calm water. About 4 miles short of the nine mile bank we hit the fog and visibility dropped about 20 yds. Thankfully the radar was working great. Fog broke up to just patchy at the 302 and just past the San Salvador Knoll it was a clear day. We put the trollers out at day break and started trolling to the 60 mile bank, we never made it there. At 32.09 x 118.05, we found a not great sized patty and as we trolled by we picked up Our first Yellow Fin Tuna and Yellowtail. The Yellow Fin Tuna hit our whiskey line cedar plug as it was sinking. We setup on the paddy and immediately got 3 hookups on bait. We had a single drift of constant Yellow Fin Tuna for the next 2 hours. Gave out my numbers to Max on the At Ease and we ended up with a few boats in the area as we set back up for another drift. I don't know how the other boats did but we ended up with 19 on the boat and lost at least 7 do to pulled hooks and frayed lines. Picked up at 11:30 and started to head back to the barn and at 32.19 x 117.50 we trolled by another paddy and picked up a Yellowtail on a white feather and as we setup to fish bait we had a bunch of dink Yellowtail charged the boat. We kept the bigger ones that we caught and had some Yellow Fin Tuna show up. Figured it was a good day so we picked up and was able to make a 30 knt run back in. Didn't see another paddy all the way back in. Took a few pictures but nothing special. the last pick is my buddies take.

Great day over all seeing that the season is over.

sometimes the small ones swallow the hook and it's bad news so you just keep them... I bet you he could have probably kept 100 if he wanted...

Quit whining about the small fish you pussies!

Daryl is a good dude and I'm sure they were bleeders.

Like a bunch of fucking girls. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.
