Albacore are some pretty amazing fish, and we are only just begining to learn about them. All this information is available to the public, including all the research I have done to date to help with this project.

Thats why I have been asking all you guys for your help with collecting fish carcasses.

There is a lot to learn about the stock of albacore in the eastern pacific. Gathering the data is the hard part.

You all have had the chance to help gather samples presonally to help this study.

To date, not one person from bloody decks has saved a stomach or tuna carcass for me, though many have offered, few have come through.

I work in the SAME lab as the people doing this project and the ablacore and tuna carcasses you could have been saving would be going to further our understanding of these two potential stocks.

The otololiths from the fish I collected this year and the past two years are going to be used to back up the data shown by the tagged fish.

If you like this kind of information, please take a minute and read the link below. Even just two or three fish samples makes a huge difference in putting together the bigger picture.

There is still a chance to help out. Any tuna, caught in US waters can be donated to the project simply by pming me, or calling me... please see the link below for more information

thanks,

Owyn
