Monday Local Banks Report

Left early Monday out of MB, down at the 371 by early light. Trolled 371>230>302 for nada. Water about 66-67 all the way, looked decent and a few flying fish and birds, but nothing else. Ended up the day catching bonies off NW end of north Coronado island. Season's over for me, y'all -- good luck!

Nope, no meter marks anywhere, till I got to the Islands. But that's not to say they weren't around somewhere. This area was generally 72 degrees two weeks earlier, so a five degree drop. I will say the water looked very clear and blue, not the green stuff they were reporting up north. However, I'm not sure if the big yellowfin they are reporting at 100+ miles will move up into this area if the water temp is a lot cooler than where they are. FYI, as an aside, I went Saturday down about 15 miles below the 425 and the temp was 70. However, again saw nothing. Came on a kelp the size of an airport, with birds. Thought we hit the jackpot, but me and another guy worked it over an hour (no marks) for nada. Thus, it appears to me that between the remainder in the warmer water up north, and the warmer water way south, there is colder water in the middle, with not much there. Maybe something will move in, have to see . . .

How big are the yellowfin that is moving up? Are they bigger than the 20-25lbs range we got off our coast this season?

Just checked SSTs and it looks like the temps may have come up a bit in the area you fished since yesterday.

Looks like we are getting another push of warm water. I wonder if some fish will come up with it?

Anybody heard about temps around 302/371/425 that back up what I'm seeing on SST's?

I hit tons of good deep marks all over the place. Nothing would go though. Just great marks all over the place. Hopefully its not G squid or something. Only had the backup FF.

Roger that. I worked a HUGE pod on Sunday with great marks outside of the Huntington rigs, but no biters.
