Congrats on catching the kinda rare Opah, must of been a thrill? Good job on the Yellow Fin Tuna and Do Do.

Hey Biggens, were you in the blue colored hull? That was a picky bite...we had our 3 east of the high spot and moved west at 11:00 or so where there were more boats but fewer fish. It seemed like there were a few frustrated anglers and with good reason, tuna are supposed to hit trolled jigs and especially cedar plugs and this batch isn't playing fair. I wonder if the 277 would have been the better call. 182 was dead on the radio and when party boats bailed the 209 I didn't waste any time there. I always replay these things over in my head and the one mistake I made was we didn't put on 2 - 4 ounce torpedo sinkers...hmmm...funny as we brought them. Met a lot of good guys that day and yes, the opah was incredible!!! We smoked him up today (1/2) and will do the rest next weekend. Texture was similar to tuna but no fishy flavor, sorta like dorado. Thanks to everyone for congrats and I'll be sure to do the same...it's not over for at least a month so keep going...Apollo out

If you don't announce that you are going to catch an Opah before you drop, it doesn't count......
