went out on a overnight trip on the pacific quest with my uncle.
evry1 got to the boat early so we departed around 830 insted of 10.
woke up around 530 when a blufin bite in almost pitch black light went off for about 3 or 4 fish then wee started too go on the troll when it got lighter picked up a mini albi about 6-8 lbs. no bait fish back on the troll got another mini albie and a blind strike dorado again no baitfish then me and my uncle got on the troll andd my uncle got hit by and ablbie about 10 lbs.. i got my trolling rod in put out my bait in 20 seconds line started rippin out put my reel in gear about 150 yards of line just go off then it stops.... i fight for like 25 mins and a 35-40 lbs yellowfin pops up get him on the deck and that was it. we got another yellowfin about 45lbs on that bite also. The next three hours went very slow with nothing going on until we came across a kelp holding some dorado got my bait out in 5 seconds im on then.. off
get my bait out again got hit right away this one stayed on about 8 lbs dorado. my luckyass uncle got 3 dorado in that short 6 mins. 20 minutes later we got into a plunker blufin bite with 25 lbs blufin crashing the surface a couple got picked up right away then it was my turn 15 mins in fucker came off .. lots of people lost theirs i guess these guys didnt wanna swallow the hook .. my uncle did deck his which as the biggest (20-22 lbs) that was just about it for the rest of the day.
I caught that nice yellowfin and a dorado
my sob uncle caught 4 dorado 2 blufin and 1 albi
We did better then we shud of the rest of the fleet did a lot worse
the boat caught 9 albies most on troll 3 yellowfin 2 bait 1 troll 13 bluefin all bait and 8 dorado 5 of which were caught by me and my uncle
