5/17 Took a nice ride

Left O'side this morning with FishinNick and I'm Off to take a nice long ride and check out the temp break around the 43. Got some nice dines and were on our way around 6:00 AM. Temp was 65 almost all the way to the 43 with dirty water. Stopped just shy of the 43 to fish a huge paddie. Caught one nice bonie off that patty. Put the trollers in and drug them from the 43, East Fly, West Fly, back to just outside the San Salvador Knoll for one more Bonie near the San Clamente weather bouy. Lots of life in the dirty water above the 43 and little to nothing everywhere south and outside. Water never got really clean, even though it did get blue. Water temp from below the 43 around the flies was 61.5 to 62.2. Lots of bait on the meter in the dirty water very little in the colder stuff. No birds or anything out by the fly. But man was it a great day to take a drive and we did not hit any fog.

I heard the radio report about albies and I can say it did not look very fishy out there and when the guy was reporting catching them I could hear the boats from inside talking to him but could not hear him. Unless you see real proof I would save your fuel. Big paddies had bait and some bonies but not much else going on out there.

Here is one of the paddies

Thanks Joe... that is interesting - if he was on the grounds around the Fly - he should have been crystal clear.

That is a huge patty.

Joe, You must suck at fishing, Dont you know there were albies caught out there yesterday? Good job on making the run and dispelling the rumors.
