News late Bodega report w/pix

Just got back from Bodega from a 6 day trip of salmon & abalone with the family. Ran for salmon on Sunday 6/11 and found WFO action in 240' of H20 west of 10-mile beach. Released 8 coho and kept 7 kings for 4 of us ranging from 10-28 lbs. Purple haze hoochie/anchovie & hot spot and straight bait on the troll did 'em in. Left'em biting. Abalone was great, again. Great time with the family & friends.

My godson's first King

Thank you for the salmon report. Any halibut showing yet??? What about the sandfish, or whatever we call the smelt-like bait that comes in around July? Are they showing in any force yet? Good luck on your next trips!!! I am looking to get my sons some salmon if I can next month.

The halibut usually don't start biting until the water temps get above 55 degrees. I saw one 'but posted so far this year at Lawson's Landing. July - October are the best months for me - I've had some phenom days in October along 10-mile beach and Salmon Creek.

I think you referring to grunion? Haven't seen any show up yet.

Whoa!! Jim!! Small fucking world.

I used to hang out with you at Humboldt. Funny seeing you here. I was friends with Maki (or I guess I should say Warden Maki now?). Remember me? Matt, 6'3" tall- roomate's name was Geoff. I live in Fort Bragg now. Ive got a 21' Parker... fish all the time still. There are a few of us HUmboldt grads here in Ft Bragg and we are on the water whenever we can.

Check your PM's bro...
