take it for what its worth, I grew up in the 5 cities. Fished the whole time. Threshers, hali's, perch, so and so on.

Knew a guy at leats 10 years ago who caught an 8lber off the rocks in shell beach. Got hooked.

I never knew anybody else who tried, always thought it might do good though. I did see a limit of bugs cleaned in the trash at the fish cleaning station in morro bay once.

I've always wondered the same thing. Every now and again someone will get one here in SC by accident, but it's definitley not worth going for em up this far. How for south do they start making a solid showing? Anyone know?

Go be the pioneer!
Who knows? Maybe its a untapped resource! Only 1 way to find out.

There are lobster in the Monterey Coastguard jetty. I've seen a guy pull out legals, and heard he does so pretty consistently (consistent as in a handful/year). Although, that spot is now a SMCA so you can't take lobster anymore. But that don't stop the man known as The Monterey Lobster Guy....
They also get a few out of Santa Cruz and near Capitola like JFK said.

I would be into trying, but I think I would just end up up with a trap full of rock crabs. Got me thinking though....
