Time to band together

OK Nor Cal its time to start getting serious about the MLPA coming to your area.

We all need to ban together, as one, and boycott fishing licenses next year. We fisherman brought in over $63,000,000 to the state in license fees. This will get the states attention !!!

You need to start writing all your local Legislators about these planned closures and let them know that you will only vote for the people who stand up against the closures. You need to get mass public backing !!! The only way to stop this BS is by getting voters on your side.

Boycott licenses, ban together, and start KICKING SOME ASS !!!!

Exactly. Let the DFG know that you're not buying a license. Once they see thousands of letters or emails saying the same thing they will start to do something.

No license $$$$$ = No job

Dave, did you see what Laukia said he heard at the meeting? The DFG wardens rep stated that "the wardens would not be enforcing any new MPAs". When he finished he asked if the panel understood what he said and if they had any questions about it and they didn't. HUH? I hope I'm not reading too much into it but it seems like the DFG is again siding with the fisherman. Unless their higher ups tell them otherwise.

I did see that. I have talked to a few DFG guys and they are not happy about this. The problem is the higher ups will set "quotas" to help pay for these closures.
If the DFG has less revenue coming in they will have to cut back more. It sucks for all the good men and women in that department but it is the only way to prove these damn enviros wrong.

Yes, it's time to get serious....btw the new MLPA reserves went into effect in Sept of 2007 for the area from SLO to SF. But it's cute to see how Socal is dealing w/it.

If I don't buy a license, can I still fish? My boat is pretty quick, but not DFG QUICK!

Dave please let me be a little sarcastic in my response,

I may be blind but let me weigh in here since I grew up with a mom that was the one of the top officials in Iowa for their wardens. The DFG are like the police, they are part of the executive branch of government. They have no choice but to enforce the laws that are handed down to them from the legislative branch (the assembly and senate) and signed by the head of the executive branch the governor. Only the judicial branch with very pricey lawyers can overturn the laws the judicial branch creates.

Government basics what fun this is....

I can understand your desire for a little civil disobedience, but what can the DFG do in this case? Are you really barking up the wrong branch of the tree?

Hey I have a lifetime license so go ahead don't buy a license I will be out there fishing by myself, now there's an idea

You are right in your message however in that it is time to ban together for the north coast and get involved in the process otherwise the process will roll right along and you will have to live with the results.

Ummm.... Todd, We all know you are kidding. The internet is a very public forum. Statements like that can bring the men in black suits to your business and home. I understand your frustration just need to voice it differently.

Yes it has been time to band together. Not only regionally but nationally too. We need to show a huge voting block. Does anyone know of a organization capable of doing just that. Simular to the NRA??????

Boycotting licenses is playing into the Enviro-nazi's hands. We have to think bigger than that. We need to put our people into places where decisions are made. I hate to say it but we have to play their game and beat them at it.
