Ocean City, NJ family vacation, need fishing advice

Taking the family to Ocean City the first 10 days of Aug for gramma's 90th b-day! Have never been before and want to fish while there. Will be staying at 13th and Boardwalk. Would like to shore fish and maybe do a private charter with my 14 y/o son for Stripers if they're in at that time of year. We live on west coast and fish everyday I'm not working! Any advice on a good guide and or good fishing spots/gear/rigs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I live in Cape May not too far south of where you will be. By that time all bass other than very small hold overs will be gone. Advise Fluke (Flounder), or inshore trolling for false tuna, mahi, maybe even a lost wahoo. Water will be way too hot for any big bass by then its 64 today in the surf.

Thanks for the reply Aces. I'm game for anything. Just as long as I can get the line wet and pull on something!

Cheers and Happy 4th.

They should be running 1/2 nite bluefish trips too. Very fun to pull on. Not so great to eat. If you want to try it, soak the fillets in milk for an hour or so. It takes the "fishy" taste out. Good luck. Enjoy the nice warm summer nights.
