Karen Lynn Tuna Charter Sunday-3 Fish !

We had an Awesome day on Stellwagon Sunday with three hookups with the largest and first fish, a fat 64" Blue Fin Tuna. We tagged and released two others in the 55"-62" size range. It looks like the same group of fish that were 57"+/- last year are back and significantly bigger and stronger.

We are really so fortunate to have this kind of fishery so close to home and need to really try to make it sustainable. We are talking about leaving the light gear at home this season so when we release these fish, they have a reasonable shot at survival. What a great way to start the season and it is amazing that we have so many fish early and such an abundance of bait.

We are going to go up North for a few days of Giant Fishing but will be back for charters Friday and the weekend. We had a group that had to reschedule for this Sunday so we have an open date if anyone is interested.

The Fish should start to settle in on bank in the next week or so. Plenty of bait and activity to keep them there hopefully.

Get ready... 2009 is looking Good. Thanks

Jim

Good to hear that the fish are bigger and stronger. What did you hook these guys on? Surface Lures? Planers? Chunk? Good job and can't wait to make it back out there to Stellwagon!

hey what's up karen lynn guys?
we saw ya out there last year and the previous year, i was on the little tiny 16' boat on the groaner during july and august for the commerc. season in gloucester
July was a blast but we didn't adapt and thrive in august
I heard you nailed a 55# last year and just wanted to ask one question....shallow water or deep?
the green stick set-up that you have must be a blast to fish and see that topwater bite, it sounds like it's working like a charm
well, if you're around gloucester then you've heard about the problems and drama going on with the auction...unfortunate
Hope to see you out there in july and august and leave some fish for us little guys...by the way you have a SWEET boat
ttyl
