Just back from PV

Just got back from 4 days in PV and it was real slow for us. We ended up staying inside one day for rooster fishing. Amazing that expectations are so high for the Yellow Fin Tuna cows, you can actually be bummed out even after landing Black Marlin, Roosters, Dorado and Sails. PV is really a special place in the Blue Planet and I look forward to getting back there soon.

We finished up with 1-Black Marlin 225#, 1-Rooster 35#, a couple Dorado and one Yellow Fin Tuna 5# that I carved into the best sushi we had all weekend.

The real gritty rub to the story is that it broke wide open in SD the day after we left with Yellow Fin Tuna, Big Eye and plenty of Stripers north of the border. We will be looking around tomorrow and the weekend.

Re: Just back from PV

Hey John,
I heard you were down there and had my fingers crossed for you. Guess it didn't work. Last year while we were down there the cows weren't in, so we did the alterntive fishing too and had a blast. PV is fun and beautiful. While you were gone I fished with Dave B and we got two marlin in one day. It was a blast (my first private boat marlin [I wasn't even the angler but will still call it "my first"] and I got to drive the boat during the fight on both fish. I really think driving might be more fun than reeling the damn things in. Good luck out looking and keep in mind that we didn't travel real far to catch them (38 mile round trip from Oside) and stayed within about 8 miles of La Jolla (last Sunday). Have fun!
Chuck
