August Meeting Beach Party

Next Month’s Meeting – BEACH PARTY

The August meeting of the NCSWA will feature a beach party and BBQ. The event will occur on Wednesday, August 30th at South Ponto Beach, where the state park parking lot is at the extreme north end of Leucadia. Club members and guests are welcome. Things will get started a bit earlier than usual at about 5pm with firing up the BBQ’s and a bit of surf-fishing, swimming, surfing and boogie boarding for those who wish to do so (bring your own equipment for these activities. There also could be another “Horseshoe Classic” after dinner. The BBQ will be simple beach fare (hotdogs, brats, corn on the cob, watermelon, and potato salad with a nominal charge of $3 per head, kids 12 and under are free. Soft drinks are included with the BBQ (alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited at this beach, so do what Dave Orr does [ask him if you don’t know]). Remember guys that this month's BEACH PARTY meeting is this upcoming Wednesday. There will be food and drinks, as well as a $50 pot round-robin style horseshoe tourney with two pits for pitching. Food and drinks will start around 5pm, with shoes starting at about 6pm. Bring a beach chair, surf-rod, insect repellent, the kids, and a happy face. Booze is prohibited at this beach so be creative. Also I am still in need of a few volunteers for set-up and break-down. See you there!!!!
