Surf Fishing

Hey guys,
Ive been down surf fishing almost every day for the past week or so and things are really biting. About mid-day there is a low tide with lots of corbina in the really shallow water. At dusk there is a high tide with near wide-open action on medium sized surf perch. In both cases the action is in real tight to the shore. If anyone wants to meet at the beach to fish shoot me a pm or post here and we'll do it. I have been fishing a couple of different areas in south Carlsbad.
Chuck

Re: Surf Fishing

I fished Cardiff Saturday, in between surf sessions. Wide open on corbina and surf perch. Plenty of sand crabs for bait.

Re: Surf Fishing

I have'nt been surf fishing for a week or so but it has easily been the best surf fishing season I've had in a long time. Must be due to the warm water early this year. Generally the best month is August when the water temp reaches high 60's and low 70's but it was in the 70's in June this year.

I've never seen the spotfin croaker in htese numbers either. Been fishing Torrey Pines, Solana Beach and Black's but fish have been everywhere.

Hell, I've caught more fish in the surf this year than on all my offshore trips. A helluvalot cheaper too.

Re: Surf Fishing

Let's go down some evening and gets some!! We could even have a small cocktail party while we're at it, for a change.
