I got a tempur-pedic Mikey and hands down it kicks ass for comfort.Owned a nice pillowtop before that and it didn't compare to me
I will never own a spring style ever again (NEVER)
Mine was not cheap but a good night sleep is a must for good health ,so therefore it didn't matter how much it costed to me.

My .02 | Thanks Eric, I appreciate the honest feedback.
I know you have had a back problem for quite some time now, so I can only imagine how important a good mattress must be for you. Hope that back is doing better. Quote:

Lots of positive feedback from people here so we shall see. I am all for a good deal and am always looking for one, but I also want to have a good quality mattress, so I will have some questions for Theo and see what he has to tell me.
All input is greatly appreciated!

Sleep number is the chit... Love mine and has a great warranty. The Foam is too hot for my tastes.

I had to get a firm mattress because of a back injury, ended up with a pillow top that I just couldn't get used to and dreaded sleeping on it, felt like I was sleeping on the floor. We added a 2" memory foam pad and it's very comfortable now. I've never had a 100% memory foam mattress, but really happy with the combination of pillow top and memory top pad.
Next mattress is going to be a memory foam.
Eric, did that TempurPedic stink to high heaven when you got it? I had to put the foam topper in the garage for a week before we could sleep on it because of the smell, and even at that it had an odor for a few weeks.

Go to several mattress distributors and try them all, whats good for someone elses back may not suit your likes or comfort. Spend some time finding what suits you, and some $ on a quality mattress, and you wont regret it.

I got talked out of the Tempur Pedic and into a latex mattress. Tempur Pedics are closed cell foam and will be sweaty hot in the summer. Latex are open cell foam and they have holes going all the way through them. Same effect, but cooler. It was a bit cheaper than a Tempur Pedic, but expensive nonetheless. Lot less complaining from the wife with the bad back.

talk to theo "knotmyfish" he'll hook you up with what ever you want.
I got one pillow top and one double pillow top of him and am very happy with both.
The foam mattesses are great but they don't breath much, so if you're like me with a higher body temp and easy to sweat than the temperpetic is not the way to go.
You'll be sweatting your nut's off.
