| sculpin sting
So, we were fishing the rockpile Saturday and I got jabbed. Since we had no hot water and the 4 stroke stream wouldn't get hot enough to do anything, I toughed it out and went home with a swollen finger. It is still a little swollen and hurts when I bend it. Better than Saturday when I couldn't turn my doorknob and had to use the other hand to get in the house.
Any advice on helping it get better faster?
I am taking motrin and occasionally running it under the hot water faucet.

Did you pee on it
For a Sculpin it is as hot of water as you can possibly stand.

I just took some amoxi and tylenol and a few days later it was all good

Snatch up some meat tenderizer from the grocer and make a paste and apply to the wound and cover for a bit... trust me it works

Had the exact same thing happen when I was a deckie...We got into Some nicer quality sculpin, and I held one up and walked around the boat to show everyone:" If you catch one of these, keep it over the rail and I will come get it for you. DO NOT bring them over the rail!'". 5 minutes later, POW!!! Some barney swings one over and it nails me with 3 spines in the right shoulder!!! Hurt like a bitch...Couldn't really move my arm right for a few days...If it keeps getting swollen, go get some antibiotics as a secondary infection can really ruin your gig!!!

vinigar is for jellyfish. (De-activates the nematocysts)
hot water is for fish toxin and urchins (not local). Breaks apart the protien based toxin.
Pee...just good for a laugh
To late for the heat has to be done fast fast fast. While the toxin is still localized and a minimun of tissue dammage has occured.
