| Thank you Bloody Decks!!! YOU MADE THIS POSSIBLE!!!! THANK YOU!!! BLOODY DECKS ROCKS!!!! San Diego is the greatest hometown in the world. Two days before Thanksgiving Tracy was at the commissary shopping and a young enlisted family who was checking out in front of her, buying milk, diapers and vegetables didn’t have enough money to buy all their groceries and couldn’t decide what to put back, because they needed it all! Tracy paid for their groceries and the idea of an enlisted men/women/families Christmas dinner was born. Tracy approached the seniors at Monte Vista Village, where she works, and they took the idea and ran with it. Many seniors, have donated their time and money to make this dinner happen. Saturday Dec 22 we are going to be able to give these families, who struggle to survive in San Diego, a nice Christmas Dinner, $75.00 worth of gift cards and the children get to visit with Santa. The seniors, average age 86, have been reminiscing about what life was like for them when they had young families and struggled to survive; many of the men served in WWII and the women were at home trying to keep their families together. Many of the men and women remember what it was like for them during the great depression. They can relate to the difficulties that the young enlisted families are having now. In three weeks, against all odds, the residents, staff & community have raised over $10, 000 to buy gift cards to give to these families. Volunteers have come out of the woodworks, good people live in San Diego, we now have a volunteer roster for this event of 70 people. It makes my heart sing to know that Bloody Decks donated large sums of money AND RECRUITED MANY VOLUNTEERS to help struggling military families have a brighter Christmas. We live in America’s Finest City, and its not JUST because of the weather! WAY TO GO BLOODY DECKERS! Thanks, again! Originally we thought 25-100 people would be helped. As of yestarday we have 457 people coming! The need is great! It is awesome that so many people have stepped up to the plate to help these families who are serving our country. They are the true heroes!

Parking will be tight.
Easy access to Monte Vista is Massachusetts Ave exit from 94. Go south one mile and we'll be on the left hand side just after the light at Mt. Vernon. If you could park on the right hand side of Mass. (across the street) and walk to the facility, we want to save the best parking spots for the families.
I'm going to have a volunteer orientation at 12noon and again at 12:30. We are going to need people to help the families park and then we'll go inside and the volunteers get to pass out the gift cards to the military families!
Come at noon if you can!

Thanks Cindy, I didn't want to encroach on the family parking and I'm not real familiar with the area

Congratulations Cindi and all who worked to put this together.
