Can you paint a fridge?

I just bought a house and the place has a brand new black dishwasher, and a black oven/stove in pretty good shape. It also has a brand new refridgerator, but the damn thing is white. Is there some actual refridgerator spraypaint that is meant for such a purpose and that looks OK? I don't want to replace the thing if I don't have to. Is there a way to do this without it looking too ghetto?

Re: Can you paint a fridge?

I know you can refinish a fridge and there are "appliance" enamel paints, but I don't know how nice a finish you'll end up with, with black... I've only ever redone a white fridge and it was one of the older white textured types...

Re: Can you paint a fridge?

You probably will find that the black panel on the front of the dishwasher is an insert and behind the black one is a white one. Now you have matching white appliances...

Re: Can you paint a fridge?

All you smart asses! Anyone have any useful input? What kind of paint do I need?

Gil, the diswasher is not refaced. It's black all the way around.

Ok Ok...you want to use Appliance Epoxy. You can find it in the paint section. Another idea is to make all your appliances look stainless...you just put a film on the outside...check it out..

Just trying to offer an alternative. Most paint will dull if someone cleans it wrong with an abrasive pad or cleaner. Maybe one of the high end paints that were mentioned would work. Powder coating is super durable but the heat used would damage the plastic parts if not disassembled...
