I need Tech Help with my f-ing Computer

I removed Yahoo Music Player from my computer and it did something to my CD-Rom Driver. Now the CDrom is not working and it when I go to the ce manager it says the driver is missing or corrupt (code 39) ??? WTF
-I removed the driver and let windows auto install and still no go.
-Went to manufactures website and downloaded driver and still nothinin...

It's not a Brand name... I had it built at ACNT. I'm operating windows XP Pro 2002

TOTALLY uninstall the driver..Uninstall the HARDWARE..go to hardware manager console and DELETE it from the PC THEN restart...THEN turn off PC hook back up the drive and restart PC let WINDBLOWS install it and go the Hardware manager and make sure it is enabled you should be good to go.

You can't just unistall something that is not showing up int he hardware manager. There is one of two things that you can do. Backup your data and reformat the drive and then do a reinstall. If do not remove the old regisrty many times the new installation uses the same defaults as the previous intsallation


Or tell the OS to boot up in safe mode and when it askes yes or no, hit no and do a roll back where the yahoo sw is still installed. You will have to figure out why the deinstall took out your driver.

But if you have tried to re install already the above will not work.

MAN!! I have read this reply 5 times.......WTF are you talking about man?? Do a full reformat to reinstall a cd rom?? where did he say that it didn't show up in his hardware manager console?? DAMN you must get paid by the hour to do this shit or have all day to do it BTW I JUST had the same problem 3 days ago and fixed it the exact same way I told him to and it took me 15 minutes. Besides Hippy cheated and fixed already the even shorter way : )

Back to bidness. Hey Brah when you are finished with all of this stuff get a good ( most are free too) reg cleaner and clean out all the junk you are going to have left behind.
