CEAN BEACH – A man fishing off the Ocean Beach pier early yesterday morning was shot once in the chest after he and some his friends began arguing with another group of people over some lobsters.
The 23-year-old victim, whose name was not released, is expected to survive, police said.
The shooting took place just before 1:30 a.m. when someone pulled out a small caliber handgun and fired. The shooter and at least two other people, including a woman, then ran to a black Honda sedan.

Lt. Mark Jones said a witness wrote the car's license plate number, and it was traced to an owner in the mid-city area.
A few hours later, Lt. Karen Kenney spotted the sedan, and officers stopped it at gunpoint. Three people were inside. Susan Pang, 18, was jailed on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. Two juveniles were being held at a juvenile detention center.
Looks like we better be packin if we're fishing the OB pier.
