The fucked part is that So Cal has most of the refineries in Kalifornia (AFAIK) and we are taking it the hardest in the ass at the pump. How does that work? How the fuck can it be cheaper out in the sticks where they have to pay the extra cost of shipping?

yesterday I got gas for $3 clams / gallon for regular old ass gas.
this morning on my way to work at 4:30 am the same dam ass gas was at
$ 3.23 / gal.

The thing I find most unscrupulous about the whole damned situation is that we've got politicians screaming for windfall profit taxes, investigations of the oil companies, etc., etc. There's no collusion - it's free market economy at work (unfortunately).

If the slimy douchebags we elected to office REALLY wanted to do something to help the consumer, they'd temporaily recind the approximately fuckin' 50 cents a gallon in taxes we pay on every gallon of gasoline! The feds could recind it and so could the states (and counties and towns, etc).

Answer:Supply and demand. Look at this link and you can track the price of crude. http://tfc-charts.w2d.com/marketquotes/CL.html Not too put a damper on anybody, but the price for August and September crude is $76 a barrel. Which means we will be paying about/around 30 cents more a gallon come August/Sept than we are now. Just in time for fishing season.
