Re: Credit Reports.

How do you dispute a reported item? About 3 yrs. ago, I had a gnarly cell bill (about $4500, after a break-up, she thought she'd stick it to me,and did) and contacted cingular to take care of it/make arrangements. They advised the bill had been referred to a credit agency, which I called. I make an agreement with them to pay $2000 and call the bill settled and got this in writing after I made payment. About 1.5 yrs. ago a 2nd collection agency claims they have the bill now and I need to pay $2800, I say "no way" and fax them the settled in full letter, to which they stated the other agency had no authority to collect. Anyway, they are still on my report, how do i get them off of it?

Re: Credit Reports.

Dispute it before you try to buy any big items like car or house Isn't there a period they cannot disclose or show it being disputed?

Re: Credit Reports.

Personally, I feel funny giving all my information to a web page that I don't know too well. That is how this gets started in the first place.....
