How are you guys doing with it?? What’s been working for you??? I was hacking pretty good on my way home from work and tossed the pack out the window. Now I have a patch on and feel like I just did a few lines. I can see myself sticking with this for the most part but can’t visualize myself not lighting up on the boat…especially after a hook-up. ffice ffice" /> What’s working for yous guys????? Aaron

I smoked up to two packs per day for 17 years. I have many times thrown a pack out the window, only to turn around and get them back. I quit by using ............I forgot the name of the pill, but it was like a anti depressant. I had to start taking it seven days prior to quitting. After seven days I quit the pill because I did'nt like how it made me feel. I also quit smoking at the same time. Whenever I got the urge I went in the garage and took acouple of hits off a cigar. That seemed to work for me, cause I have'nt litup since. I don't even mind when someone is smoking and the smoke gets in my face.
Let me also say..."you really have to WANT to quit", not halfass quit. The day I saw my 3yo put a cig in his mouth and say "look daddy, I'm like you"!!! I quit.........

I started with the patch on Monday. I still have about 3 or 4 a day, but it is way better than my 20 Camels a day routine of the last 20 years. It is amazing how the patch stops the nicotine craving I use to have when trying to quite. I guess that is what it is intended for. Best thing you did was to throw away the smokes that you had. My problem is that my wife tried to hide a box in the house and I sniffed it out.
As for future smoking when fishing or boozing, I will reward myself with a nice cigar.
Good luck with your efforts. They say its worth it.

I keep a can of skoal around, and when I start gettin super edgy, I throw in a lipper. As I write this I'm staring at a full box of Commit lozenges, and a full box of Nicorette. I havent touched either of them...The skoal seems to be working, I'll stick with that.

And Kareem Korn is right you really have to want to quit.
With the pill the first 2 weeks for me were hell, I wanted a smoke so bad after a meal or a beer but the pill helps w/ the craving and after about 2 months I had no craving to smoke anymore
Good luck!!!

This Saturday will be 4 weeks, still no smokes....
The only problem i have now is those stupid thoughts you get "just one" or "have one just to check"....
I did'nt use anything as I wanted to quit....my fishing buddy is using the gum and finds he gets huge craving, he's still attached to the nicotine...

Same with me Neill, 4 weeks Saturday cold turkey.
I do have dreams that I smoked, and I wake up mad at myself. Also, I don't watch movies that have people smoking, it drives me crazy.

Coming up on two months pretty soon. I wore the patch for about 4 days before I couldnt stand it any longer. know it sounds corny, but I just dont smoke. All in all it has been fairly easy. Keep it up brah.

Quit in August, it was just the right time to do it. Did it cold turkye. It gets a little bit easier every day, but the urge will probably never be gone. I can say that I am done for good, and my body already feels better.
