Thank you to Bloody Decks!

Once again I am humbled by the generosity of the people on this board. I was able to take over $300 dollars to Montana for the construction guys that lost their tools in my Mom's house fire. My Mom and another lady put together a fundraiser while I was out there. They rented a hall, had food, drinks, live music, a silent auction and a raffle. The communtiy came together for this and they raised quite a bit of money. Once again thanks to all of you who donated.

The house was a lot more depressing to see than I had anticipated. It was utter devastation. The foundation is destroyed so they are going to have to start from scratch again. They are working with the insurance companies and a lawyer to try to get the funds available as soon as possible. They will have to wait for the cround to thaw before any serious demo work can begin on the site, probably around May. I told my mom she should change the name of the house from Bridger Canyon Lodge to Phoenix Lodge in Bridger Canyon since hopefully thier dreams will be able to rise from the ashes........

The view of the canyon from the house:

The garage, the point of origin for the fire was just to the right:

The stucco guys were using a propane heater that was "tented" in by plastic sheeting to keep the stucco from freezing. They think the propane heater was knocked over by some of the plastic sheeting that came loose in the wind. I guess it is standard parctice to leave two propane heaters on all night unattended when it is windy out..............

Hey Marcus...do you know Kent and Linda from Boojum Expeditions ???? Saw the name on one of the banners. Super cool folks
My mom & dad just moved into their new cabin after 15 years of living in a old homesteaded mud hut in the Swan Valley MT...sent them a link to your first post , they were very touched and saddened.

I didn't actually know Kent and Linda. Next time I'm up there I will have to have my Mom introduce me.

Re: Thank you to Bloody Decks!

My mom wanted me to post his for everyone who donated.......

Dear Bloodydecks,

My son, Marcus, brought your kind contribution to our "Tool Fund". On December 6, our beautiful new house burned to the ground - 10 days before we were to move in. Our wonderful carpenters were working very hard to get everything finished so that our family could be herewith us for Xmas.

Our carpenters lost all of their tools in the fire, and with your generosity and that of other kind people, the fund to replace those tools is growing.

It is very kind of you to help people you don't even know. We are so very grateful to you.

If you are ever in Montana, come and visit us, or visit our website at

www.bridgercanyonlodge.com

With our sincere thanks

Pauline and Gary Sager
