White wings were thick!

We had to stop shooting them, gave em a free pass after about 20 minutes....that's what took so long for the limits. Had to pick out the mourning doves to fill the limits.

Mourning doves are smaller and generally fly lower, pointy tail and mostly gray.

White wings have a white stripe on their wings and fly HIGH (love it), square tail and look like small Pigeons when full grown.

FYI: Some Pigeons are really rock doves and great to eat. Same with banded tail Pigeons.

Rock Dove

AKA Pigeon. I wouldn't recommend eating the city Pigeons, but out in the valley and Yuma they occasionally end up in my bag. Usually when the doves are scarce. They're called Squab in the finer restaurants.

Ok lemme have it--roadkill, Jethro, hillbilly........

Yep I blasted those band tails for many years with my father. Up on Palomar mtn. Isn't the limit 2? I was busted for missing an upland bird stamp in 97' and quit hunting since. Cost me $177. I went fishing on my court date and pulled a no show
