Diesel prices SUCK!

Posted here and on the freshwater board.

Just got back from Mammoth/June area.

Diesel prices suck! I topped off at the Chevron in Bishop on the way up. $3.05 a gallon. 3 days later, same station, $3.15 a gallon. Most places were $3.09 - $3.25, then I see it. $3.35 a gallon! Diesel is one or two steps above oil! In Alaska, they sometimes use Jet A and an oil additive. This is crap.

Anyway, I thought I'd post for those heading up. I made the trip from Bishop to Corona without stopping again at my normal top off spot.

650 miles @ 10 mpg @ $3.15 a gallon = double what I paid two years ago!

Diesel refinery fire in LA. Right after they sold 21 million gallons to mexico and chile.
I hope it comes down soon. I run power service diesel clean and get 1 mpg better in my commute. 2 mpg better if I keep the ac and defrost use to a minimum. I'm getting 16.2 to 16.7 commuting. which sucks but my gasser only got 12 to 14. diesel for $2.99
in San Mucus off rancho santa fe and 78
Hope this helps a wee bit.

Fuck....tell me about it! I just bought my F-250 Deisel in April and it was like $2.39 a gallon. Up about $.70 in 4 months.....FUCK!!! Now it seems like the price is raising even faster now. I filled up 2 weeks ago for $2.79 and 4 days later at the same gas station, it was $3.01. Now it's a bargin to find it under $3.00. I think I'm actually wasting more gas driving around town to find the cheapest fuel.

Dru - If it is the same station, Got Bait filled up his boat last weekend for $3.05 a gallon......and that is with cash! Getting to be an expensive sport with fuel and bait prices going up.

I paid $1.63 for my first tank of diesel back in March 04.

I thought I was a genius for buying an oil burner....

S-Rods, that is fucked....a sign of the times i guess. It just pisses me off that diesel is the easiest shit to make yet we get totally fucked.

Diesel is still a better engine for a marine application, but the edge it had from a mpg standpoint is gone...

oh well

I'm pulling my XR650r out of the toy box and making it my commuter ride. Screw 'em. F'ing bastards. I get 35+ mpg on the bike and it's only 15 miles on a back road to work. Can't wait to hear Chevron's profit margin for this year.
