Joining the ranks of sportinwood,( although I got hurt 1st ), I got a good dr today after 5 weeks of light duty and was NOT prepared for the results.

Long story short is I am screwed IMO.

I was not prepared to find out I have a fracture in my neck! I expected the lower back issues (herniated disk), but shit. I guess the DR couldnt read the xray last month after I got hurt in the pursuit

I have 2 MRI's pending. I have no idea where this will leave me at work. I am off as of now. At least all the pain is explainable.

Oh well, nothing I can do about it. The cards will fall where they do.

Mike, man I feel for ya bro. That sucks, welcome to the Philedelphia Collar. You'll grow to hate them!! When I fractured C5, I did the Phili collar for a year man.

If they offer the stabilization surgery, take it. I'm 2 years post surgery and have no pain in my C5 region whatsoever.

That blows man. At least you have a good doctor now. Hopefully that will help with accurate diagnosis and a good recovery plan. Will they still let ya fish?

My wife just had back surgery for 2 herniated disks in her back 3 wks ago and she feels 1000% better.

Hope things work out for the better for ya.

Sorry to hear that. What kind of Fracture. I have two compression fractures in my back. My necks pretty jacked up too. You get kinda use to the pain after awhile.

That sucks dude. It's shit like that that makes me wish that y'all could make a good effort to make the person know that y'all are after 'em and if they don't stop, just start shooting. As long as it's not putting other folks at risk anyway.

once the dept. catches wind of this you'll be put on permanent disability and maybe offered a token desk job or maybe a " john q public " billet. I trully hope I'm extremely wrong in my prediction and I'll buy you lunch if I am , but take the utmost care of yourself now bro and it will only get better.

They already know. I had to fax the Dr's note. This is my fear.

Nah, fx neck doesn't automatically mean retirement. I'm still goin, even with the plate/screws in C5.
