#1 | | Guest | Sheet. This is my monday...what next?
Im on the way to work minding my own business. I like to drive across the coronado bridge and cruise the strand. Real nice relaxing scenic drive. Except for today.
I see the CHP chasing a vehicle towards me. This is on the bridge. The vehicle stops and a female gets out, running with a knife. I slam on the brakes, get out and get the K9 out.
She runs and then gets on the other side of the rail. Suicidal. Dang!
Long story short was she jumped. I was fortunate enough to not see the actual jump as I was moving my car for the CHP.
Ive been bummed all day.

That seems to happen frequently on that bridge, at least a few times a year. I hear about it on the VHF. Sometimes they shut the bridge down.

Sorry to hear that Flatbadge... Not a good thing...
Could be worse though. You could work in San Fran......
"The Golden Gate Bridge connects more than San Francisco and Marin County; it connects the world of the living to that of the dead. Since its opening in 1937, the 4,200-foot suspension bridge that spans San Francisco Bay has played host to on average 25 suicides per year, more than 1,000 suicides total."

I remember leaving the cafe at muir one weekend morning headed back for my room in Tenaya hall, everything on the quad nice and quiet, very peaceful. While I was checking on my PO box a guy jumped from off of Tioga hall next door, 11 stories, hit the concrete. Not to belittle the guy and whatever inner demons were driving him but he really messed up my morning, I can tell you that. Never even knew the guy and I was grateful for that, but I remember just heading straight into my room, grabbing my board, and driving myself up to Cardiff to surf with the intention of just clearing my head for the next several hours and not being around while all the cleanup and investigation were taking place.
And no, the dude's roommate did not get straight-As for the quarter.
