there are billions of people on the planet and hundreds of millions of guns and other weapons. Yet in this day and age we still manage to carry on and the percentage of murders is miniscule. Just the media sensationalizing it. The sky is not falling. And yes i can believe it, its no wonder there arent wholesale shootings, but we have to give the people credit, for the most part everything is just fine.

It would be nice if the media chose the good stories to report on, and there are millions of those too, but they arent as interesting as death. Feel free to call your local news stations and ask them to report 50% or more on positive stories.

We have more mass murders.
But the homicide rate stays about the same going back into the 60s.
The difference is now days news is instant, with old tech back say 50s and prior, if it happened in Florida, you may never hear about it outside the south.

The main objective of every news channel is to get the highest possible rating. Much like our personal lives, they report -to the masses- what the masses want to hear. It's like office or home gossip, the moment you find out some shit went down cell phones are ringing & emails start going out. We tend to tell more people about the negative things in life than we do positive things....it's who we are...it's what we want to be feed. Why do you think all the positive or inspirational news stories come toward the end of every news hour? RATINGS, RATINGS, RATING.
