 late post wed duck hunt 12-22-04
Well gotr up as normal, and headed up the mountain hopeing to do a walk on. As Bill ( head of the lake) opens the gate. He comes directly to me, say's there is no need for me to wait, that he had a vacancy. Whoo hoo. When we got to the lottery part, I was lucky and got the # 1 pick YEAH BABY!! So I picked the hotest blind. I invited 2 other hunters to hunt with me since that as a huge blind. As dawn slowly approached, 4 Shovelers flew right into my deeks !! 8 minutes before shoot time, my heart was pounding hard. Tick Tock.
Shoot time was here, I stood up, And so did the Shovelers. POW one bird down, POW second bird down, And POW YES a third bird down. My first tripple.!! :jo: I was so excited that I walked out to retrieve my birds. Yes I got wet. The birds just kept on flying into our blind. My toll for the day = 2 Drake Shovelers, 1 hen Shoveler. 2 hen Ring necks, 1 Blue Bill, and 1 common Merganser.
My other 2 hunters bagged 2 Blue Bills, 1 Canvasback, 2 Gadwalds, 1 Pintail, 3 Ring necks, and 1 common Merganser, and 4 Ruddy's. Like I said, this was a hot blind, and it paid off. Great day to be hunting. Sorry no pictures at this time. New PC and hardware not yet installed.
