Getting into the upper 20's will be very difficult... Even with underdrives/overdrives, you will still have to contend with traffic which kills overall mileage.. The banks is an excellent system... My best suggestion is to move closer to school.... I know... I'm a....

Depending on the truck and trans model.... It will be around $4,000+ installed + whatever a new custom driveshaft costs.... I looked seriously at getting one installed and got quotes.......

I think people are on crack with this....you have several factors working against you...weight, all the driveline drag including larger tires and the aerodynamics just are not there. just my 2 cents but Im just a stupid MI huck

Do some research on the year. You'll find out why....

My '03 averages over 20mpg stock or chipped with freeway speeds of 70mph. Freeway only at 60-65mph is around 25mpg.

AND, the new trucks are in a transition with emissions. Kind of like gas cars in the 70's but not as bad. I think you will see diesel talked about as an "alternative" fuel a lot more in coming years. Also, look for diesel/electrics in cars and SUV's when they do get the particulate deal figured out.

Call me NotraDumbAss....
