From Christina herself about trip policies...

Call her if you have any questions...Bill is to fucking old to remember conversations older than 5 minutes in the past....

No refund unless cancellations are received in writing 90 days prior to departure on a 3 to 8 day trip; 180 days prior to all longer trips or until your vacancy if filled. We reserve the right to retain the full amount of the required deposit. No refund on any deposit will be made until after sailing date. All refunded deposit are subject to a 10% booking fee. No cash refund for cancellations of 30 days or less. Should there be a substantial increase in the cost of diesel fuel, all trips are subject to a surcharge at time of sailing. The cost of trips does not include individual Mexican fishing permit or California fishing license.

The way I read this is pretty simple:

"Don't sign up for the trip if don't actually plan on going."

I'm not trying to steer anyone away from this trip. Really I'm not. But these trips are a commitment...in both time and money. If you're thinking "hmm, that might be fun" but aren't fully committed don't put your name on the roster until you ARE fully committed.

If you are on the fence...talk to some of the guys who've gone before. Review the tackle requirements and figure out whether you'll be able to beg, borrow or steal what you don't have. Figure out if you can take the time off. Have a game plan for the cabbage...the trip fee is just a teaser. By the time you pay for permits ($120ish), jackpot ($30), galley tab (8 days is alot of drinking...could be over $100), tip for the crew (figure AT LEAST 10% but probably 15-20%: $300-400) and fish processing (my last bill was $450) you are going to sink about $3k into this trip excluding any of your tackle requirements, clothing, liquor, sunscreen, pussy pad, moist toilettes...whatever.

Having said that, once you go long, you never look back. I don't look at offshore fishing the same way since I did my first 8 day last year.

I look forward to seeing some new faces next year as well as the same asshats that have tolerated me for the last two years

Jason, Did anybody even ask about the refund policies policies? I just looked through this thread and didnt see any questions like that. And I was told by Linda, That there would be no fuel surcharge unless the price of fuel went drastically up. So like Charles said, If you're on the fence, Wait till you know before you put your name on the list

It's not just about being on the fence, emergencys come up so when I asked what the policy was and Christina requested I post this when I spoke to her.

Doesn't really matter what the policy is, this is going to be a bitchin trip and if anyone waits that long to make a decision this trip will be filled up before you know it.

I'm just going to pay a 2-4 hundred a month till it's paid off and be done and not have to worry about it. I don't want to lose my spot.

Some tool that tried to hang but failed... Been demoted to rail turd and now has to get off the pretentiousness turnpike and drive on the 5 to the landing like the rest of us.

Maybe in 2010 he'll bring a couple rods and reels and fish a little?

Who gets to room with Jewie?

Dude, I grew up in the SF Valley... I'm more of a Jew than Moses. I'll bring bagel chips and ranch dip from Jerry's and some challah loaf from Canter's.
