Do Minors Need Passport upon Returning into the US

Thats my question.

Was thinking about heading down to Mx with my 11 yo son for quick fishing trip. Say 3-5 Days. would drive down east cape have some fun.

My question, do minors need a passport upon returning bask to the U.S.

Yes, I'm pretty sure he'll need one.
I believe that after June 1st everyone needs them.

You will also need a Notarized "Parental Travel Consent Form" signed by his mother authorizing permission to remove him from the U.S.

It doesn't matter if your still married, divorced, or if she's deceased (proof of death is required).... a notarized form is required if she is not traveling with you.

There is no "official form" however there are a list of suggested guidelines and several downloadable sample forms that you can have her fill out and get notarized.

When i went to Canada with my dad i needed a passport and a written letter signed by my mother allowing me to go with my dad out of the U.S.
