I guess I will just pay the extra 20 and get it in hand.
It allows you to print it out as soon as you purchase it. It cost $40 and I didn't have to waste my time getting a cashiers check from my bank and then try to make it to the Officina de Pescad before they close at 1.

Awesome!!!

Yeah why would you have to pay for a license for the boat if you already have a yearly license for Mexico? That doesn't make any sense at all. Sounds fishy to me.

There is a difference between a mexican license for a private boat and one for a sport boat.

You will need to buy one when you get on a sport boat.

So from the way you are describing it I would then also have to buy a special sport license for local waters even though I already have a State fishing license with an ocean stamp!? I have read through the Mexican regs and I can't find anywhere that states that you have to have a sport boat license if you have a 1 year Mexican fishing license. Could you give me a link or paste something in this thread that states otherwise? I am not trying to say you're wrong but I can't find anything in "the Mexican regs", not ours, that say you have to have a seperate license sport boat license.

Well I just got off the phone with a few friends from the docks and they have all told me the same thing that you said Chuam that you have to buy the sportboat permits if you are going on a trip of 3 or more days in Mexican waters. It's called an Excursion Permit and it's $75.00. So if you are looking to buy a fishing license to skirt around the costs of buying the permits on our long range fleet forget about it cuz they are still going to charge you.

Ok, has anyone purchased their Mexican license on line and actually received the license?????? I'm going out of the country for a couple of weeks and would like to buy online, just a little hesitant until someone has a success story.

Ok, I went online to buy the permit. Went through the whole process, entered the payment info and pressed the buy button(in spanish) and received a "system error" . Tried a different card got the same result. Now I am not sure what the hell is going on. Anybody else experience this?

You are 100% correct. It's been that way for decades.
