Had a five or six maps on the walls of each proposal. I arrived toward the end and it seemed a little unorganized as to what I thought it would be like. I would of liked to seen more close detail on the maps of Laguna to where I would be able to see each beach listed and the red zones in relation to. Fishermen need to go out of their way to attend and then turn their comment cards. You know the Vegans and Super Environs are doing what ever it takes.

I was there from the start to about 730. Was interesting talking to the RSG members and giving them my input on what i felt needed to be inproved, Proposal A was probebely the best compromise with La jolla, and Dana in most consideration.

There was tons of Anti fishing people there. as well as a good amount of fisherman. Grean Peace was at main beach protesting handing out flyers and shit.
1 super presarvationist lady who had to be 80 years old, was in a conversatiosnw ith an RSg member when he explained that a sewage pipe cant be included in the SMR requirements, so that is where the SMR ended. i explained that its sad how Laguna Beach would only allow spots that have a sewage pipe spilling into the water as a palce for recreational fishing. Her defense was "that dont lobster like sewage? dont they feed off it, thats be great toput lobster traps near, it would attract lobsters." I asked her, "wouldyou eat anything that lived in your toilette? i wouldnt, so why would i want to eat soemthing that lived in everyone elses toilette?" she walked right away from me... To bad they dont understand.

More detail on the maps would have been great.

Even some of the volunteers who were there to answer questions regarding each proposal did not have a firm grasp of where exactly the lines would be drawn for each map.

There seemed to be a good mix of reps there. I saw a lot of people I knew.

Had a chance to talk to Mayor Boyd and he is the MAN!

Attendance in Laguna was just above 175 people. This meeting had a more equal mix of representation from the individuals wanting to fish and those wanting to preserve than the other two. I did get to talk with several people from both camps and saw several comment cards being filled out. I still find it unbelievable how much incorrect information is out there filling the public ears and minds. The question I got and get most is where does this area start and end. They will be providing more detailed maps for the areas next week with streets and landmarks around the closure areas to make it easier to see. Looking for more good public turnout as the open houses hit San Pedro, Marina Del Rey, Oxnard and Santa Barbara next week.
