MARINA DEL REY ANGLERS CLUB

MARINA DEL REY ANGLERS is a club of men and women who help one another become better anglers and safer boaters. We have friendly competition with contests and recognize the Anglers of the month and year. There is an annual Awards Party Dinner to recognize all the good catches. Our Youth Fishing Program sponsors about 1000 kids per year to a day of catch and release fishing on a charter boat. We operate a White Sea bass grow-out facility which has released over 70,000 fish over the last decade. The Marina Del Rey Halibut Derby is the oldest and largest fishing contest on the West Coast. The Derby is run by volunteers and all the proceeds go to the Youth Fishing and White Sea bass Programs. We meet the second Wednesday each month in Burton Chace Park, MDR. Visit our Web sites ( MDRAnglers.com and HalibutDerby.com) for entry forms and membership apps. The annual dues contribution is $50 per family. fficeffice" />

November club meeting

The Next meeting of the Marina Del Rey Anglers is November 11th 2009 at the Burton Chase Park public meeting room. 7 pm.

Hope to have a lot of members there as they will be taking nominations from the general membership for the Board of Directors. The election will be at the December meeting. The same meeting is usually the one where we have the holiday dinner party and toy drive for the LAFD Toys for Tots drive.

Also FYI the run for Angler of the Year award is tight this year. 3 members at 60 pts and one at 50 pts. So anyone in the club has a shot at it if they just turn in a few more wight slips. Especially on light line.

See Marina Del Rey Anglers (Link) for more information on joining this club or if you need directions to the meeting. BTW Parking is free on Weds evening.
