PV Cigars for Fishing Trip

Dearest BD members,

I'll be going to PV at the end of May, and have to have a few good, reasonably priced Cubans for my fishing trip. Does anyone know of any cigar shops in PV? I'm staying at Rancho Banderas, so Punta de Mita, or La Cruz is probably closest.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There's a good cigar shop at Paradise Village but it's pricey...your best alternative is downtown or in marina vallarta for the biggest selection...actually there's a little hole in the wall store in Punta de Mita right as you come into town on the highway (next to Hotel Emilio) it's got a little grass palapa out front and they sell some cubans, etc. That's where i shop most of the time in Mita...

Since i don't smoke cigarettes anymore cigars are all i have!

Im hooked on the Oliva Serie V... Just as good as a Montecristo #2 imho... I also like the Padron 1964 Series which are from Nicaragua and are super tasty. A lot of the Cubans I have seen in Mexico are fake.. I read somwhere online about how to identify a fake Cuban when in Mexico. They even show photos of the fakes. good luck down there and I hope you catch some fish and get a nice smoke!

The further down you go the less chance of fakes. Most are Cohiba.
Look for an assortment of Cubans and should be o.k. I get mine from Canada.
I would also follow Capt. Josh's advice and go there. My guess is he has some experience with them.
