PV AMBERJACK 5/18/07

PV 5/18/07
Finally my buddy Brain & I made the first trip to PV last week and Thanks to all the brother bloodydeckers out there who pointed us in the right direction. We fished last Friday with Marlas on the Marla II with Alonso Osuna. We made it clear up front we wanted to fish for the tuna if at all possible. Alonso told us the water was green and it may be 1 fish day if were lucky. So away we went to the banks. The boys fished there butts off for 9 hours we drifted live & chunk, trolled, even broke out the kite for no love. Alonso told us to reel it in as he wasn't taking us back without fish. He said he had a good spot for amberjack and rooster. The above photo say's it all. The next three hours were wide open rooster, amberjack, and pargo. Good thing we didn't start there it would have been a very short day. Well if you see this Alonso, Danny, Scott Or PAPA Osuna THANKS for one of the best days I've ever had. You guys are fishing gods.

Awesome AJ......it appears to be 100lbs+. I can almost guaranty the fish wasn't weighed, as the Osuna's don't have a scale. Regardless, a phenominal catch and muy bueno comida. Congrats!

hey seabass, nice report but we need to give credit to alvy also. he is a true, hard core fisherman! the two boys alvy and alonso asuna really know theire waters, fish and gear, which is all avet reels.alonso asuna thanks again for your dedication to get fish, quality fish!! asunas rule BRIAN CLEMENS ( this should be an avet big fish winner for may 2007)
i will add awesome pics. as soon i figure it out

Sweet "Pez Fuerte". That one is a toad. How long did it take to put that guy on the deck. They are a strong fighting fish that's for sure. Congrats on what sounded like a great trip.

Amazing catch for sure but I think you are going to have your hands full in the contest for the following reasons (just my 2 cents):
1) There are two tiny kids that have amazing catches (one is a new Jr. World Record catch).....thus he has two votes above you (1) him being a kid......judges like that, and (2) you are up against a world record catch that is going in the books.
2) You did not own the Avets in the picture. Regardless if you are an Avet owner, I think the judges can relate better if they know you are a true Avet owner and used your own gear to make the amazing catch.

Like I said.....just my 2 cents. I'd be happy for you if you do win but I wanted to state some obvious deterants so you don't get your hopes too high. Good Luck!
