Punta De Mita

I am thinking of taking a vacation to this small area just shy of Puerto Vallarta. Suppposely I hear it is not fished near as hard and the tuna are plentiful along with a mix of marlin.

Anyone stay at the four season there? Hows the customer service. My last vacation consist of rude employees

Thanks

Capt Jack

Re: Punta De Mita

Hey Jack

I have been to Mita PLENTY of times, so I can fill you in.

Four Seasons is awesome. But pricey. If you can afford it, go for it, it is very secluded and very nice. Many celebs go there to get away from the crazyness of big cities.

As for fishing, you will be in great hands if you hook up with Captain Josh Temple as his fleet is located in Punta de Mita. He runs a sweet 40ft Cabo but if you are looking for something cheaper he has some nice 30ft gradys with excellent captains, i suggest Lora.

To say the area isn't fished as much though is a dream. Plenty of people fishing the area, and from there the ride out to the tuna grounds is shorter, but still, everyone goes to the same spots usually, the rock or el banco. Around mita you can get a panga and do some nice roosterfish and dorado fishing for rather cheap. Again contact Josh or his wife at info@primetimeadv.com

I think Four Seasons has a van to pick you up from the airport, so go with it if you can, not sure if it costs more or not, but well worth it.

Mita is a small town and definitely not fancy by any means, but there are some nice restaurants along the beach. Not much nightlife though, its mostly a relaxing vacation if you go there.

PM me if you need more info.

G

Re: Punta De Mita

If you are going with the wife, Paradise Village will be more interesting for her IMO. Longer boat ride, but a lot more stuff for to see and do by cabs.
People are very nice in PV in general, except for the tourists.

Re: Punta De Mita

Might be true, but if the wifey is like most wifeys, she will probably just want to be pampered and basque in the sun poolside or oceanside.
If she wants to go shopping and all that nonsense, the 4seasons can take her into town in their shuttle van I am sure

Go fishin, get her a nice massage while you are fishing, you will be golden.

Just know the rooms are around 4 bills per day, minimum.
