tunas all over

Just did a 4hr charter to look for dolphins and mantas, no go , but got the clients into a slew of Yellow Fin Tuna right in front of downtown Vallarta no more than 1 mile offshore. Small dorados to 15lbs also in front of los arcos. Guys on the radio are saying tunas all over from the islands and el morro out to corbeteņa. fish in the bay were 20-50lbs and that is the big side for what we will see in the bay, farther out they are running bigger. not many cows yet, but some boats have hooked up and with the way this week is ending, it looks as though we are ON!!!!! Captain tortas on the Pecositos landed a respectable yf on tues of about 220 and I heard of others hooking up but not landing. Tomorrow we hit the rock and I will post the results. I do the short trips to keep the food on the table, but it sure rips you bad when the people have no desire to fish and the radio is just crackling with the good news offshore!!!! Oh well, tomorrow just wont come soon enough. adios amigos

Re: tunas all over

Thanks for the report.....the wife and I are talking about booking a week there in the fall.....it's hard to wait that long with reports of fish being caught a mile out!

Re: tunas all over

o.k guys, just talked to danny who runs the panga dhamar and he said the bite was wide open today at el morro with 5 dorado and 6 tunas around 40lbs. He said the boats at corbeteņa were reporting a great bite on small black marlin and still shitloads of tunas, just not full force on the big boys yet, it's just a matter of time, and that at times only means a good nights sleep and the next day......WHAM.... they are here. lets cross our fingers. I will post tomorrow on our results. My problem is I am a much better fisherman than computer navigator so when I finally figure out how to send the pics, trust me I will back these reports up.
