*** Puerto Vallarta Fishing and Lodging Info ***

GMoney! was kind enough to assemble this information for us. Following is just about everything you need to go fishing in PV. [/size]

[SIZE=2> [SIZE=2>Great site to find flight and hotel deals and hotel info in Bay of Puerto Vallarta Hotel/Condo Information

www.vallartaonline.com/maps/banderasbay/
This link is a map of the Bay of Banderas. Click on the zone you want to stay at for info on hotels in that zone. Most people who go to fish stay at either Nuevo Vallarta or Punta de Mita (North Coast). You can also stay in Marina Vallarta or the hotel zone downtown if interested in night life more than fishing.

You can find owners who own condos and timeshares on here for rental

Punta de Mita Hotel/Condo Information

Punta Mita is small, but is home to some very nice condos on the beach and just off the beach.

For other luxury accommodations, check out the: of [FONT=/>Banderas. Click on the zone you want to stay at for info on hotels in that zone. [SIZE=2>Great site to find flight and hotel deals and hotel info in Bay of For luxury hotel accommodations, the Four Season’s Resort is your only option. This hotel is luxury at its finest and offers hotel rooms as well as villas for rental. ($150-450 per night)

For something less luxurious but still nice, check out:

  • El Ancolote condos (available through la punta realty and vrbo.com). Across the street from the beach and restaurants, condos are 1 or 2 bedrooms and can sleep from 2-6 people and around 1000-1500sqft… ($70-175 per night)
  • El Faro Real condos: On the beach, next to Punta Vista condos, a little bit smaller and less luxuriuous but offers same views. 1-3 bedroom units, 1500-4000sqft. ($150 to $350 per night)
  • Casa Las Palmas…. Owned by Dave and Irene….these mini condos have very nice accommodations, they are located a few blocks from the ocean, but still within walking distance of all the food and the fishing. Rooms usually have kitchens, small living room, and their own bathrooms. Excellent choice for those on a budget but still wanting a nice clean place to stay. ($50-75 per night)
www.fourseasonsresort.com/puntamita/
Link to hotels website. However, you can probably find cheaper rates sometimes on Expedia.com or other online resources at times.
Beautiful resort, expensive, but it is luxury at its finest. A little trick for those who want to get inside the “gates”, just tell the guard there you are going to have lunch at the restaurant, they usually let you in no problem.

www.lapuntarealty.com
They specialize in Punta de Mita real estate for purchase and rentals. Ask for Yumiko and tell her I sent you there, she’ll take good care of you.

www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/mexico/banderas-bay-puerto-vallarta#1546
List of condos and houses for rent in Mita. These are units for rent directly from their owners, so you can score pretty good deals. Look for the Ancolote condos for decent accommodating condos across from the beaches and restaurants and a quick 5min walk to Josh’s boats, Punta Vista condos for top notch luxury condo accomodations

Nuevo Vallarta Restaurants

In the Paradise Village Shopping mall there are SEVERAL different restaurants ranging from Mickey D's to Sushi.

The fast food is all downstairs and the sit down restaurants are upstairs.

The Mexican food restaurant upstairs is CHEAP and GOOD.

There is also a Brazilian BBQ restaurant upstairs. For about $20 they will stuff you with more BBQ meats and fixings than you could ever want.

Punta de Mita Restaurants

  • Paolo’s Italian Restaurant – Excellent Italian food , cheap prices, and you might just catch JT and Shrek downing anejos from time to time.
  • Margaritas – Owned and operated by Hector, excellent oceanfront Mexican cuisine specializing in seafood. Bring your fresh catch of the day and watch Hector turn it into mouthwatering food. Be careful for the Margaritas…STRONG!
  • Manana – Owned and operated by Chef Roger, the restaurant offers live music Friday and Saturday nights, Chef Roger is French so his food is amazing….but tends to be a bit more pricier. Service is usually slow, but that is the French way. Josh and Shrek hate this place, ask them for their story, but my wife and I loved the food there. Just know that it will take you time, and the Chef can be moody at times.
  • El Dorado Great food….beautiful ocean view and sunsets. The coconut mahi mahi is awesome. They will also cook your catch for you, drinks are great, service is just as good. Breakfasts at El Dorado are my favorites. Try the banana pancakes, they are unreal. In the morning you will often see Jack Crevalle crashing the beach on bait…quite a sight.
  • Various taco stands on the restaurant row are also really good, and cheap, like $2 or $3 for lunch.

I haven't been to PV in 5 years, and have only been out on a pongas...Since it's my 40th b-day, and fathersday, i would like to splurge and increase my odds of geting my son a his first billfish, or me on my first cow tuna.

Thanks in advance.

If you're still coming to puerto Vallarta and looking for lodging, I can send you in the right direction depending on the amount of money you want to spend... I have some hotel rooms through a friend who can schedule you them for as little as forty nine dollars a night, right now in high season.... contact me if you're interested.....

If you are lodging in Mita make sure to check out Tuna Time. There is a sign on the fence next to El Dorado. The captain stays at El Ancote condos. ( right above the restaurants)Awsome trip almost guaranteed.

The Magnifico is a twin engine Bertram 31' express.

It is also a very good deal at $500 for 8 hrs. Capt Cesar is the owner, speaks great english , runs a tight ship and keeps her at dock O in front of the hotel flamingo in the main Vallarta marina. 001.521.322.106.9788 is his cell.

These guys have been fishing there for years.

Just stayed at the La Cruz Inn (LaCruzInn.com). The proprietors are ex-pats from Scottland. VERY nice people! The setup of the inn is very nice, makes you feel like you are actually on vacation, rather than the normal hotel setup that you'll find anywhere in the world.

They have a couple freezers to freeze fish for those going down there to fish. Only a couple hundred meters from the marina.

Danny Gomez

Hi y'all,
The info on Danny Gomez at Dhamar doesn't seem to be working (as of November 6, 2008). I tried the posted phone numbers: the cell is now a wrong number and the home is disconnected. The website is gone and there has been no reply to my email (though it didn't bounce). Can anyone help? I would like to fish with Danny at Christmastime.

Robert, the number I have for Danny is 011-52-322-111-4802 it worked 10/23/08. If you can't get thru you may have to dial a 1 after the 52. I have to do this from the east coast to call a cell number in Mexico. I hope this works out for you. I have fished with Danny and you will catch fish. Bruce

Great info, but I didnt see anything about the best season for fishing. I am thinking about July, August. That is really the only 2 months id be able to get down their. What do you guys think.

Usually good to great fishing for tuna that time of year and you will have legit shots at multiple bill fish too. July - Nov are best times for all species there. July - September is prime hurricane season too though, so you take your chances.
