Sayulita fishing

I am going down to Sayulita (just north of Punta Mita) in January for awhile and would like any advice you guys could give on any captains you would recommend down there. Or, would I be better off to go to Punta Mita and get a boat there? Because of money, I would like to go on a panga, if possible. Can the pangeros down there put me into some dorado or smaller YFTs? I don't care about marlin, I would like to catch a few good fish for food at the condo. I always enjoy catching dorado or YFTs. What about sierra or wahoo? Are they around? Any help you can give would be appreciated. My home forum is Ifish in Oregon, but I just found Bloodydecks and there are so many more of you with knowledge of the fishing around PV that I decided to try here. Thanks, guys.

Re: Sayulita fishing

Either spot has Pangas but I prefer the town of Sayulita to stay at. It is less touristy and very safe. If you don't get what you want in Sayulita, then take the shortcut road to Mita for the day. It is not far at all.

***** You must go to Don Pedros on the beach in Sayulita and eat the woodfired shrimp and bacon pizza with a side of fresh mussels. Ask for Nick Parrillo. He is the owner and family friend of mine. It is the best place to eat around either town and they will serve you on the beach with a cold pina colada pitcher to go with it. He has been there about 15 years and can help you with boats and other fun things around there. Tell him Scott Oswald sent you and you will be hooked up for sure.****

Jack-
The big two story place in the middle of this photo is Don Pedros... Epic grub and local knowledge. Lots of pangas to choose from.
Salud!
