| PV boat spinning rod
Can't find the post of the angler putting some serious HURT on fish with a Shimano "Blue Rose" short spinner. I think they where at the Roca??
I need this rod to "yard" Pargo without get-n busted off.
I remember the East Cape ('70's), trolling a lisa over the brain coral with a Penn 10/0 with the star drag Hammered full on. Of course the day was when a schoolie Pargo was 60lbs.

Adrian, What is the line class of the rod? I could only see line PE 10 and I have no idea what that means. I did see the $500 price tag!!!!

Dennis,
PE 10 is generally around 120# breaking strength (depending on what brand it is).

The rod would have no problem pulling a Pargo out of the rock? EH!
The spinner, is it a Stella?
Including the braid, looks like the price tag will be over a Grand, rod, reel, Ect.

you guys need to come back east here and find out about these spinning outfits... these short rods can definitely generate some pull....they land big bluefin on those things, over 200lbs, so no reason it cannot handle a pargo. Each rod is different and has a different bend, you really have to try them out to know what suits you best. I also know Glenn was talking about someone working on getting harnesses for these rods and spin reels.. that will help a lot.
You can check the OTI rods, and also ocean revolution rods, which will cost less, but I would imagine should be able to handle pargo. I caught several 50-60lb AJs on an OTI400g blank..that rod has a lot of backbone and will put a nice hurt on your back if you dont get in the right angle.
And I highly recommend the black magic harnesses.

Start cruising 360tuna.com thats where you will find out LOADS of good no bs info on a whole 'nother world of fishing. Selling all my calstar/seeker stuff and moved to OTI rods.
Those Blue Rose's are tough to find but Smith, Hots, Jigging Master and Ocean Revoloution are still $400+ and just sick rods.
