Gas /Diesel Pemex Road Prices 1/12/09

Thought I would quote this as I am in Mexico

Pesos to dlls 13.51/13.91 Banamex

Pemex Fuel prices
7.72 pesos p liter Magna Unleaded
7.43 pesos p liter Diesel

So if you went to the bank, bought pesos, then bought fuel you paid

Magna $2.17 USD/Gallon
Diesel $2.08 USD/Gallon

Usually there are two types of car/boat fuels.......one being diesel and the other gasoline (AKA Magna in Mexico).

We have magna (green pump) and premium(red pump), I belive, premium is the better quality.

The peso exchange actually jumped on Monday, it was 13.2 /13.6 last Friday. But as charter rates are quoted in dollars, I imagine that helps the PV businessmen a little bit.

FYI, I heard that regular gas is now below $1.50 a gal in a few states in the USA, so things are back to normal, with Mexico being more expensive again.

Sold my little boat for pesos on friday so I was watching it pretty closely.

Magna = unleaded 87 octane regular gas = Green pump

The red is unleaded premium at 91 octane.

70% of all gas you buy now comes from the USA. It is my understanding that the baja supply comes from Long Beach and the rest comes from the Valero refinery in Texas, or Mexico's small refineries near Monterrey, Salamanca, Altamira or South of Veracruz.
