July Moon Phases?

I am looking into a PV trip the weekend of July 18-20, and it looks like that Friday is a full moon. Is that good or bad? If bad, is it really so bad that I should avoid the trip? That is probably the only weekend I can go this summer.

Thanks!

The full moon can be terrible or Great......you never know. In September of 2005, my buddy and I caught 5 cows in two days on the full moon. July is probably a little early for big numbers of cows but you just NEVER know. If that is the only weekend you can go, you should definately go and roll the dice. If the offshore species aren't biting, the inshore speciaes typically are.

Which ones Matt, water or land?

Like the experts said, full moon doesnt mean things will be bad. But sometimes making bait can be harder during a full moon, sometimes the bite is later instead of earlier.

It really is just a crapshoot. If it is your only chance to get down there, go for it. Usually the few days leading to and after a full moon will get you best tidal action, but whenever you can get out there, do it.

Hopefully the water turns blue overnight though, its been ugly for a long time now. I think we need a few nice hurricanes to shake things up and bring in the blue agua. Then again, Matt caught his 5 cows that year in nasty green water, we had multiple hookups last year in ugly green water as well. Just be happy you are out there fishing, and not at home or at work if you do go.
